Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Patrons rave about the seafood chowder, often touted as one of the best around, packed with flavor and generously filled with fresh seafood.

The freshly battered cod garners significant praise for its delicate texture, often hailed as a must-try for first-time visitors.

Another highlight is the extensive drink menu, featuring a great selection of craft beers, wines, and spirits that elevate the dining experience. Overall, the combination of quality food and a friendly atmosphere keeps guests coming back.

The outdoor seating area is a plus for those who enjoy dining al fresco, especially on warm days.

Most Disliked

Some diners note that the restaurant can get quite crowded during peak hours, particularly on weekends, which can lead to longer wait times for food and service.

A handful of reviews mention that while the seafood offerings are stellar, the non-seafood dishes can sometimes be outshone by their oceanic counterparts, limiting options for those less inclined towards seafood.

Additionally, the popularity of the establishment means that it’s wise to plan your visit. Expect to face a busy environment during lunch and dinner rushes, which some may find overwhelming.

Food was outstanding. I had the battered cod. Perhaps the best I've ever had. So soft, it fell apart on the fork. Delicious!

The lobster was so fresh and juicy, serving with a decent butter sauce and crispy fries. Finally, had a Guinness in the wood old-pint glass back me up to GOT.

I went here with my wife the other day,we were quite ambiguous on trying a new place as we both were never too fond on fish. We got seated and served by a lovely young girl, and she was extremely kind and gave some recommendations on what to try and etc.She was wonderful and we got a good conversation about her.I think she introduced herself as chloe but my wife said it was Claire but that’s beyond the point.Overall i loved this place so did the wife lol and we aren’t big fish eaters but the cod was beaut 👌😋.

Lunch stop here on the way to Castle Ward on the most beautiful day we had on our holiday. The weather was perfect to try their seafood chowder. It was the best I've ever had! We also ordered a nice burger with chips and 2 of the most refreshing ciders I've had in a very long time. Bonus that it was served in a huge wooden flagon! I'm an island girl from Hawai'i, and we don't get such things, so it was a fabulous experience for me and my partner. Everyone was so friendly and the service was brilliant and the food gorgeous!!Mahalo (thank you)! I hope to visit again!!

Great service, delicious seafood and aren’t stingy with the portions either. I would highly recommend and will be returning again if we are in the area.
